About Alexandra Valencia

I am a passionate Spanish teacher with extensive experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language across diverse educational settings, including after-school programs, elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as continuing education environments. Since 2018, I have taught both in-person and online, bringing language learning to life for her students.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning the Spanish Language and its Culture from the University of Granada, Spain, and a Certification in Artificial Intelligence in ELE (Spanish as a Foreign Language) from International House Cádiz. In addition, I hold a Specialist Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) from Externado University and a Specialist in Innovation from EAN Business School in Bogotá, Colombia. My academic foundation also includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Since 2019, I have been a collaborating professor at the Instituto Cervantes in New York City and have worked as a freelance Spanish teacher, offering private and group classes for adults both online and in-person.

My commitment to professional growth is evident through my active participation in key industry conferences, including the 2023 ACTFL Conference and the 2024 AATSP Conference, where I presented a workshop on integrating artificial intelligence tools into language learning.

Currently, I work full-time as a high school Spanish teacher, an AI consultant, and a private tutor. Also, I’m pursuing an Advanced Spanish Graduate Certificate (Grades 7-12) at the City College of New York, further solidifying my expertise in teaching adolescents and high school students.
